Lutheran Summer Music Academy

Hi all,

This is from Mary, Josh's mom.  Josh is at Lutheran Summer Music Academy with Laura, and this year he is studying conducting along with voice.  He was chosen to sing in the Bach Cantata Choir, so he will be learning several songs in German besides singing in the concert choir, a small ensemble, and his solo pieces. 

As of today, Josh still needs $650 for the trip to Cambodia.  He needs all his funding by July 11th so we can send the money to the church in Seattle by July 18th.

Here is some more information I received about the village Ou Thmaa that we will be working in.

The village of Ou Thmaa has been completely unreached with the gospel until last fall when the youth from the church in Sompovloun decided to travel there weekly to do a Bible school with the children of the village. Recently, Pastor Sophan traveled to Ou Thmaa and had a chance to talk to one of the men in the village who said that twice he has had a dream of bright figure reaching out to him and saying “Come”. As a result Pastor Sophan was able to share with him the truth of the gospel. The man replied “Why would God want someone like me to come to Him?”. Please be praying for our time in Ou Thmaa that the gospel would begin to spread to the men and women in the village, and that God would reveal Himself in a mighty way. I heard from the local missionary that the rainy season is in full force and the roads to Sompovloun are in bad shape already and getting to Ou Thmaa is even more difficult than the trek in to Sompovloun District. By the time August comes, the roads could make travel nearly impossible...so be praying for that even now.
